GUNZ is both player and planet friendly. Our layer-1 blockchain is built on the Avalanche subnet technology, which has a much lower energy consumption and only uses about 0.0005% of the energy other networks use*.

Instead of relying on a Proof-of-Work algorithm like others, Avalanche uses Proof-of-Stake, another type of algorithm designed to save computational power. The Avalanche blockchain was listed as one of the most energy-efficient chains in 2022 by Cointelegraph, a top blockchain industry media.

What is GUNZ?

GUNZ is the first-ever platform in a AAA game that incorporates a chain, token and wallet designed by Gunzilla Games. It supports the free-to-play battle royale “Off The Grid” (OTG), due to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox and PC; and the drone infiltration game “TECHNOCORE”, available for free on iOS and Android.

What is the correct name of the digital token?

The official name for the token is GUN.

Is trade mandatory for players of your game?

While all in-game items will take the form of NFTs, it is entirely optional whether or not a player chooses to engage with the marketplace and trade those items. You can fully enjoy the game as a free-to-play battle royale without trading NFTs at all.

What items from your games are tradeable?

Several in-game items that you can loot and extract into your inventory are optionally tradable on the GUNZ marketplace. Items include weapons and weapon parts, cyberlimbs, and more.

Are there any risks with NFTs?

The GUNZ blockchain records your item on the blockchain permanently, and it is assigned to you until you trade it. If you do end up trading it on the GUNZ marketplace, the record is updated to show this change of ownership. However, as with any owned asset, there are some potential risks. These are outlined in full in our policy, which you can read here.

Aren’t NFTs another form of microtransactions?

Some games may choose to sell NFTs, in which case, they would form a microtransaction. In Off The Grid, the first console game to use the GUNZ blockchain, and TECHNOCORE, this will not be the case. In OTG, NFTs are generated by the players when they loot and extract HEXes in the game. In TECHNOCORE, NFTs are generated by getting a hold of HEX cubes during game sessions, extracting them, and decoding them.

When will your games built on the GUNZ blockchain be available?

TECHNOCORE is already available for free on iOS and Android. Off The Grid is planned to be launched in 2024.
